Well, my entire stereo system is installed (as of last Saturday). Everything was going good until I decided to retune my car (w/the SC tuner). Since everything is apparantly tied to the PCM, after the tune was loaded I started my car. To my dismay, the head unit had NO power (I was pissed BTW):snap: . I talked to SonicGT and we figured the only thing I could try to do was pull the HU back out (for the 100th time:)) and disconnect all power, reconnect and see what happens.

I pulled out the HU, disconnected the power, turned the car on, reconnected the power, turned the car back on and NOTHING! Oh yeah, I was even more peaved now. I decided I'd try pulling the power and the aftermarket HU wiring harness. To my suprise, it worked! Only problem...I had to redo ALL of my settings on my HU (EQ, backgrounds, presets etc).

LESSON 1: If you purchase an aftermarket HU and have a custom tuner, be ready to pull the HU out after the tune to get it working again.

Holy :censor: $h!t:tdown: Too much "Big Brother" there for me. I was considering eventually getting a used Charger for a "family" car but this and the crazy happenings at Slingshot for the Dyno Day might make me rethink that. Then again, the "family" car might be kept mostly stock since I won't give up my other toys (Mustang and the "Classic") and I don't want to thin out the mod budget too far.

i wonder if the capacitors in the head unit did not fully discharge and kept the memory in the computer alive??
