My neighbor was nice enough to let me use his lift to replace the 4 coil springs on my '67 Galaxie while his '56 Vette is out for a 5 speed transmission conversion and a power soft-top. I'd better keep working on that so I'm sure to get it completed before his Vette is back.

Maybe next time...

Thats the bad thing about nitrous, its not reliable....or at least the funds to fill the tank aren't hehe.

I'll be up there around 6-6:30ish

Well was a fun time, even though it was a little humid and I know my car can do better, for the first time of the season I wasn't up to par at all, basically sleeping at the line for some reason. Then there was my 18 second run where I put it sideways off the line and had to let up then coasted at 80 down the track.
Oh and lets not forget GTO2004 finally graced us by joining us.

Well lets just say this morning he is talking about getting rid of it and just getting a used car, and no longer being a nextgen'er

His '04 GTO was a hot ticket on the dyno, on paper, on the street and in the seat of the pants but he couldn't back that up with 1/4 ETs.

Hemi Chargers can be quick with the right mods. But then I read Sonic's note above...

Sounds to me like a driver problem...:smt064

On another note, both you guys just lowered your rides and that can't help weight transfer for the 1/4 mile...

Yea not sure how that affected me, I didn't have any wheel hop so that was good, the UCA may have helped with that. I had nothing higher than 13.6 except that one run, with a 13.5 thrown in there, so worse then my best of 13.4. Dan's Charger ran 14.5ish, his traction control kept kicking in off the line even though it was turned off, like at the dyno.
He's talking about giving his charger to his wife now, to that I say [-X :bat: :box:

I can't have a 14.5 car!! LOL It was pretty crappy weather, I must admit. Given everything, that time wasn't horrible...

Time to come back to the dark side with something under the hood in the "LS" engine series. 14.5 not horrible?? dude my supercharged grandsport will run the 1/4 stock in low 15s high 14s..LOL.. Time to invest in a worthwhile fun and fast summer project now.

If you go with a summer project car, I'd say don't get anything newer than 1973 and drop a huge motor in it with dual carbs, or something real fun.

whats a carb? 2004 GTO is on the southbeach diet and he cant afford any extra "carbs" LOL..

Theres and idea dan get yourself a 68 Charger!

AAR Cuda was going out again tonight right? With this cooler drier air and the spray I bet he pops a 12!

Dan, (Sonic GT)

How are the other guys getting into 12's? Did they permanently turn off the traction control?

Technology can be good or evil depending on how it is controlled.

Dan (GTO2004), sorry to hear about the problem.....

I do turn off my traction control, so it doesnt cause an issue with me other than I spin the tires. I think I'll do better if I get rid of the stock rubber and get a little better traction. Even on the track which is sticker I'm spinning off the line, as well as chirping on the 2nd and 3rd shifts, which I'm sure all add up to a few tenths if I had better grip. I'm also not sure how much the 2 10" subs in the trunk weigh, and most people don't seem to go for the $1000 option just to get more bass and added weight, hehe. I did get a 13.4 before the driveshaft, but that was better weather, and I may have gained some weight myself since then too :(

My best on Tues was a 13.982. Not bad without the spray and a 2000' DA. Dan you are right where the Charger should be for a 4300 lb car with you in it. You've got 300 rwhp but the weight and HAL kills it.
I have traction control mod, Cherry Bomb exhaust, SuperChip, Drag radials, Ram Air, and over 200 runs with the car at GLD so mine will of course be faster.

Like I said let me know when you want to come by and do the traction control mod, more than happy to do it. That will help.

I did not get back to the track tonight (fri) as I had a purge port issue so I will be shooting for next Tues to finally run the nitrous and hopefully get into the 12's.
