The Car & Driver forums have a thread on Ford's new extended warrantees (see Community Buzz, 7/16/2006) and the sense of the thread is that while the improved powertrain warranty is a welcome change, it doesn't go as far as some would like it to. Well, that's almost always going to be the case, I'm afraid. To paraphrase, you can please some of the people all the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people, all the time. Or something like that.
