Going to Great Lakes Dragaway Union Grove, WI friday night. Should be the best DA's of the year 35 degrees low humidity. Can you say 13.7 for the Charger?

If the weather holds I will be back up at GLD.
Give 'em hell...:drive:
It's hard for me to make it during the week now that the little ones are back in school.

Wish I could make it, me and GTO 2004 just got back into town, were in the lovely state of Iowa for work since last Thursday. No offense to any Iowa people, but I'm glad to be back and actually have stuff around me to do, LOL

Nope. Kept running 14.01 to 14.09 etc. One or two over that when I'd smoke 'em. The right lane sucked last night!
They closed the right at about 9:30 and everyone ran single for the last 30.
Best time 14.004
Best Trap 100.22 mph
Best 60' 2.055

Yep was unofficial LX night there were 5 of us up there.
Good times from everyone consistant 13.3s for me till i nearly ran outta gas had to put in some 100 octane 20 bucks for like 3 gallons.
After that running 13.2s rest of the night the best for me was
13.25 @ 108 with a 2.006 60' cant seem to get under 2.00.
Some of the guys took pics see how they came out.

Sounds like some great runs! And you all got some cool videos!
Great job:smt023
Hey, other than getting 100 octane at the track, does anyone know of anywhere else to get >93 octane unleaded? I want to take a gallon or two with me next time I get my car dynoed.

Unless you get a new tune with updated timing etc, I wouldn't recommend putting higher than 93 in your car.

I had originally asked Brent at Brenspeed about a race tune for the occasional use of higher octane race gas. He had an option for a race tune that would recognize fuel with an octane rating higher than 93 within milliseconds and automatically adjust timing and other parameters to utilize the higher octane gas. But he also said that his "standard" 93 tune would do the same thing, just not as quickly. Since I do more street driving than racing, I opted for my 3 tunes to be an 87, 91 and 93. I included the 91 because I drive to or through some states where you can't get 93.
I'd like to test it out on the dyno this coming weekend and see if I get a change in results after adding some high octane between pulls.
I don't know what gas is required in the SRT8s but InfernoSRT8 noticed an increase in performance when he added some 100 octane to his tank earler in this thread.

There is a road pilot on 59 just off I88 i think they still sell 103

What would a higher octane do to timing havent heard that one.
I know if you use it over long periods you engine will get used to it and ping once you go to a lower octane

Thanks! Unfortunately I don't get down that far South often and it would be closer (and maybe even ultimately cheaper with the time and travel) to go to GLD even if I have to pay an entry fee to get into the track.

Citgo on 12 at the north end of Fox Lake sells race gas. 103 I believe.
Higher octane will allow you to add a bit more timing due to the higher burn point. In other words, with a timing setting at which you would normally ping (detonate) with regular, you could up to a higher octane and prevent that detonation. More timing generally means higher HP, therefore alot of people think higher octane=higher HP, but higher octane generally only ALLOWS higher HP through higher compression ratios or advanced timing.
There's my tech quota for today. Now, sleepy-time!
